Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Co-moderated by Placemaking Canada and Park People, This session will convene four innovative placemaking projects from Toronto, Canada, to discuss how grassroots placemaking and community-centred arts projects can build social capital, deepen community connections, and activate public space in urban and suburban spaces.

Explore how these four Toronto projects showcase how equitable, collaborative and community-led co-creation empowers communities to build their own spaces that support the development of social infrastructure through learning, playing and gathering. Discover best practices from PlazaPOPS, The Oculus Project, STEPS Public Art: From Weeds We Grow, and  The Toronto Arts Foundation's Arts In the Parks Program The Toronto Arts Foundation's Arts In the Parks Program and learn how these programs actively decenter the urban core of their city in favour of the periphery and connect underserved communities to accessible and joyful public spaces.
